As a certified medical illustrator, I provide custom biological and medical visualizations designed to clearly communicate complex information to diverse audiences. My process emphasizes accuracy, creativity, and collaboration with clients to ensure that the final product both meets the intended educational or communicative goals and adheres to professional standards.
Workflow and Process
- Consultation (Free)
- Each project begins with a free consultation to define the scope, audience, purpose, and desired format of the work. This ensures I fully understand the client’s needs—whether the illustration is for publication, patient education, research communication, or commercial use.
- Proposal & Contract
- Following consultation, I provide an invoice and project proposal that includes:
- Estimated timeline and production schedule
- Hourly rate and total estimated cost
- Deadlines for deliverables
- Copyright and licensing terms (including usage rights)
- Creative Development
- Preliminary sketches are produced and reviewed with the client.
- Refined sketches are created based on feedback and require client approval.
- Final renderings (grayscale, color, or digital) are developed, with client consultation at each step.
- Revision Policy
- One round of revisions is typically included at each stage. Additional revisions are available at an extra cost.
- Delivery & Payment
- Final high-resolution files (formats tailored to client needs, e.g., TIFF, PNG, or vector formats) are delivered upon receipt of final payment.
- Copyright is retained by the illustrator unless otherwise negotiated during the initial consultation.
2D Illustration Services
2D illustrations are the foundation of scientific and medical communication. They can range from simplified didactic graphics to complex full-color renderings.
Types of 2D Illustrations
- Anatomical & Scientific – Accurate depictions of human anatomy, physiology, or biological systems for research, education, or publication.
- Didactic – Step-by-step visuals designed to teach concepts to students or professionals.
- Surgical & Procedural – Depicting surgical techniques, instrumentation, or medical device usage.
- Medical-Legal – Clear, precise illustrations used in courtroom presentations or legal reports.
- Patient Education – Visuals tailored for a lay audience, helping patients better understand conditions, treatments, or procedures.
- Editorial & Conceptual – Attention-grabbing illustrations for journal covers, news articles, or science communication. These may simplify complex concepts for broader audiences and can be designed for animation.
Characteristics of 2D Illustrations
- Line (Pen & Ink style) – Black-and-white illustrations ideal for publications, cost-efficient, easily scalable without loss of detail.
- Tonal (Grayscale) – Ranging from black to white, grayscale allows for more depth and shading than line work while reducing printing costs compared to color.
- Full Color – Realistic or didactic use of color for maximum clarity and engagement. More time-intensive due to color studies and refinement, but often necessary for publication and education.
2D Animation Services
- Educational Animations – Sequential illustrations with flat or shaded color, designed to visually explain processes, concepts, or mechanisms in an engaging way.
- Stylized Animations – Can be less realistic but scientifically accurate, focusing on clarity and audience comprehension.
- Applications – Ideal for presentations, websites, apps, or patient/educational platforms.
3D Visualization Services
3D visualization is a powerful tool for creating highly accurate, immersive, and versatile scientific content.
Types of 3D Work
- 3D Models
- Created with professional 3D modeling software.
- Can be static (non-animated) and exported for use in teaching, research, or 3D printing applications (e.g., anatomical models).
- 3D Illustrations (Single-Image Renders)
- Rendered from 3D models to create still images.
- Useful for pharmaceutical, biomedical, and scientific marketing materials (e.g., molecular structures, drug mechanisms).
- More cost-effective than full 3D animations, as they require fewer frames.
- 3D Animations
- Sequential renderings generated from 3D models.
- Useful for depicting dynamic biological processes (e.g., protein binding, receptor signaling, surgical procedures).
- These require significant resources due to specialized software (e.g., Cinema 4D, Blender, ZBrush, Unity) and are the most time-intensive service.
- Best suited for conferences, digital media, or advanced medical education.
Logo & Website Design
In addition to medical and scientific visualization, I also provide design services tailored for professionals, small businesses, and organizations looking to establish or refresh their visual identity.
- Logo Design – Clean, memorable, and versatile logos designed to represent your brand across print, digital, and merchandise applications. Each design process includes initial concepts, refinement rounds, and delivery of final logo files in multiple formats (vector, raster, and transparent background).
- Website Design – Professional, easy-to-navigate websites built to highlight your services, portfolio, or products. I focus on functionality, accessibility, and aesthetic appeal to ensure your website makes a strong impression and communicates effectively to your audience. Websites can include:
- Service pages and portfolio galleries
- Integrated payment or merchandise systems
- Mobile-friendly, responsive layouts
- Branding consistency with logos, typography, and color schemes

Photography packages are flexible to meet the needs of each client, whether you require a single portrait session or full event coverage.
